BMO Team of the Week Winner Videos

Team Bio

I am very excited to have the opportunity to nominate the U12A Girls soccer team representing the Scotia Soccer Club for the BMO Team of the Week. Scotia Soccer Club promotes the love of the game to everyone from Fall River to Enfield, Beaver Bank, Waverley, Windsor Junction, and Lakeview in Nova Scotia.
Pride:
Many members of this amazing group of girls have been playing together since they kicked their first soccer ball. They have created very strong bonds over the years that could only be made by training, playing and travelling together as a team. They always show great respect for each other, coaches/trainers and officials wherever they play. From pre-game dancing in the locker room to great enthusiasm on the field this group of fun loving girls wear their Scotia red, navy and white with tremendous pride! This convincing group of girls even got their technical director Tony Cargill to dye his hair red after both U12 teams took home the winter league championship!
Community:
Participating in our local parade yearly has always been part of Scotia Soccer Club's community spirit. Recently they won the "Most Enthusiastic" Award at the parade. The girls spent a special morning in May volunteering at our local Food Bank, "Feed Nova Scotia". We were so proud of the energy the girls put into their work packing food to help others in need. It was a special day that they will not soon forget and they cannot wait to go back and volunteer again. Over the years Scotia Soccer Club has proudly donated soccer balls and jerseys to those in need around the world including Haiti and Kenya and the Special Olympics.
Spirit:
The Scotia U12A girls were undefeated in the 2012-2013 Halifax Metro Indoor Soccer League and completed this amazing season with a league championship win! The girls demonstrated a sporting spirit by having fun, working together, showing discipline, having a “never give up” attitude and always treating opponents with respect and grace in victory or defeat. Their practices and training are always focussed and structured to building on player’s strengths and developing new skills as they progress in the game. The result has been building confidence, character, and commitment in each and every player on the team. End of season parties and trips away to tournaments have only strengthened their bond together as a team and brought their team spirit to a new level.
Passion:
A number of the girls on the team had a unique opportunity to train with our Canadian Women’s Olympic Soccer Team which taught them many lessons including setting goals, never giving up, and passion for the game. All life skills for use on and off then field!
Their dedication to each other and passion for the game of soccer is reflected in their desire to show up early for every practice and game not because they have to but because they want to. This passion has created a devoted group of young ladies who deserve to be the BMO Team of the Week!
